A hockey stick has a crooked end which points away from the body and this is how the hockey stick is held so make it easier to hit the ball, a basic but important fact that is taught early on. We dribble the ball by ‘pushing’ it along to get the idea of controlling the ball. The ball is then hit at random to get an idea of how to connect the ball with the small surface area of the hockey stick. We move onto dribbling around cones and scoring goals.
